Expert Vision SMS®

Expert Vision SMS® is a system for sending text messages based on the functionality provided by Cisco Call Manager. A message can be sent from a Cisco IP telephone or from a web browser running on the sender’s computer.

The functionality that the system provides is extremely useful when there is a need of systematically sending business messages to a large group of people, for example: the employees of a particular department or company customers. It is especially useful for employees of the sales, PR, IT or HR departments. When a message is received, the Cisco IP telephone rings, which attracts the receiver’s attention more effectively than using a computer notification system like email – something we have learned to ignore. Additionally, the sender can set a priority of the message depending on the importance of its content.

The product offers a web service which can be used by other software systems. This way text messages can be sent automatically upon reaching a critical situation, for example: overloading of a database or regular system maintenance.

The sent messages are kept in the system database and can be sent over again. The messages received in a Cisco IP telephone are kept in the phone and the receiver can reply to them or can forward them to another number.

The system is designed with the ability for a full integration with ExpertVision BusinessDirectory product and can use all corporate contacts registered there. When sending a group message, the user can select a predefined group from BusinessDirectory or create one as needed.

The system works with all versions of Cisco Call Manager and Cisco IP telephone.
